Rigging System Design and Installation

Mainstage offers complete stage, television, and arena rigging systems, as well as fire protection installations and upgrades. Components are all manufactured to meet theatre standards.

Our rigging specialists can provide complete rigging designs and specifications for your new system, or help you update and upgrade your existing system. 

Rigging Types 

• Deadhung - Battens or tracks permanently suspended with chains.
• Fire curtains - Code required curtains to seal of proscenium openings in case of fire. We specialize in the replacement of old asbestos fire curtains.
• Counterweight - Systems which allow the flying of battens by means of counterbalancing the batten with iron weights which ride in arbors. Complete upright and underhung systems available. 
• Motorized pipes - A system that combines the batten and motor all in one unit. Cables attach to the ceiling and the motor and pipe fly together.
• Hoists - Temporary motorized rigging typically used for touring shows. The method used to fly overhead truss systems.
• Pipe grids - Permanently installed grid work of pipes typically used in TV studios or black box theatres.
• Shells - Complete custom orchestra shell systems. Flown and floor supported systems.
• Movie screens - Complete screen installations from simple roll up to full cinemascope screens.

We only work with top equipment suppliers, including ETC, Automatic Devices Company, Peter Albrecht Corp., H&H Specialties and J.R. Clancy.

MainStage also offers comprehensive and required rigging inspections and repairs, including Level One and Level Two inspections.
